Dyeing of Nylon with acid dye:
Nylon-NH2 + H+ Nylon-NH3+
Nylon-NH3+ + DSO3– Nylon-NH3+O3–SD

M: L | 1:2 |
Time | 75 minutes |
Dyeing of silk with acid dye:
The affinity of acid dye for silk fibres are good. But the fastness properties is less then wool. Silk fibres shows affinity towards the acid dye at low temperature then wool. Dyeing process starts generally at 400 C & temperature is to be controlled within 800 C. To have tensile strength temperature is not to be raised at boiling point. Gluber salt is not use because it damage dyeing shade.
Recipe:
Dye | X% |
Acetic acid | 3-5% |
Temperature | 800 C |
M: L | 1:30 |
Time | 1-1.5 hrs |
